On November 8, 2024, members of the Laboratory for Studies on Research Organization and Innovation (Geopi | Unicamp), part of the Research on Research and Innovation project, participated in the “Research Management Panorama” workshop. The event, organized by Unicamp’s Research Office (PRP), was held in the Inova auditorium and brought together postdoctoral fellows in research management, supervisors, and coordinators of the university’s major thematic research centers. The goal was to enhance the academic research management process at an institutional level.
The workshop addressed topics related to meta-research and research management, focusing on providing institutional support to the PRP-accredited Major Thematic Research Centers.
Among the issues discussed, best practices in research stood out, aiming to amplify the intellectual, economic, and social impact of studies conducted at the institution. Other topics included intellectual property, technology transfer, management and science communication, and strategies for mentoring fellows involved in the management of the centers.
“Geopi was invited to contribute to the workshop and to develop this mentoring program based on our experience in the research on research project,” explained Adriana Bin, one of Geopi’s coordinators. “It was a very enriching moment, as we had the opportunity to bring together postdoctoral fellows from diverse backgrounds, working in centers with distinct characteristics, and to guide the discussion towards a common focus: their interest in developing research related to research management,” she concluded.
