José Eustáquio Ribeiro Vieira Filho

Researcher at the Institute of Applied Economic Research (IPEA). Ph.D. in Economic Theory from the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), having conducted doctoral research at the University of Bordeaux, in the Research Group in Theoretical and Applied Economics (GREThA). In 2014, he was a visiting researcher at Columbia University, working at the Technological Change Lab (TCLab) and the Institute of Latin American Studies (ILAS). Master’s degree in Applied Economics from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), Specialist in Public Administration from the Federal University of Ouro Preto (UFOP), graduated in Economics from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), and Mathematics from the University of Brasília (UnB). In the academic field, he teaches in the Postgraduate Programs in Agribusiness at UnB (Propaga-UnB) and Applied Economics at UFV (PPGEA-UFV). At the federal level, he develops and evaluates public policies related to technological innovations in agriculture. From 2010 to 2012, he was a Federal Councilor of Economics for COFECON. From 2019 to 2021, he served as Program Director at the Executive Secretariat of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Supply (Mapa). In 2013, was awarded the Ruy Miller Paiva Prize by the Brazilian Society of Economics, Administration, and Rural Sociology (SOBER).
