Sergio Luiz Monteiro Salles Filho

Agronomist graduated from UFRRJ (1981), Master´s degree in Agricultural Sciences from Unesp (1985) with emphasis on Energy Applied to Agriculture and PhD in Economics from Unicamp (1993). Professor at the Department of Scientific and Technological Policy at the Institute of Geosciences at Unicamp. He was Superintendent of Operational Planning at FINEP from 2001 to 2003, Director of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at Unicamp from 2010 to 2013 and Director of the Institute of Geosciences at Unicamp from 2017 to 2021. Visiting Researcher at the Manchester Institute of Innovation Research between 2013 and 2014. At Unicamp, he stands out as a three-time winner of the Zeferino Vaz Award (1998, 2001 and 2009), in recognition of academic performance. Assistant coordinator at FAPESP from 2010 to 2020. His lines of research are economics, planning and management of science, technology and innovation. He is the author of more than 110 publications in periodicals, books and book chapters, having supervised around 50 graduate students, at the master’s and doctoral levels. He has coordinated more than 50 research and extension projects throughout his career. Among them, studies supporting the strategic planning of public and private research organizations; evaluating the results and impacts of policies and programs for research and innovation from funds; development agencies and public and private organizations and decision support in science, technology and innovation.
