Workshop "Impact Processes as a Path to Habitability of Planetary Bodies"

The workshop will be held at the campus of the State University of Campinas-Unicamp . The university main campus is located in the Barão Geraldo district, of the city of Campinas.

Workshop activities will happen in the main building of the Institute of Geosciences, located a very short walking distance from the campus hotel, called Casa do Professor Visitante (see the Accomodation section).

Arriving in Brazil and proceeding to Campinas

For those entering Brazil through Guarulhos/Cumbica International Airport (GRU) in São Paulo,  which offers the largest international flight options in Brazil, Campinas is 120 km away and can be easily reached by road.

An express bus line offers regular services departing from the airport bus terminal,  located on the East Arrivals floor on Terminal 2 (international flight arrives at Terminal 3), to the Campinas central bus station, with regular services starting at 6:15 am until 8:45 pm. From the Campinas bus station one can take a cab to the suggested hotels.

Travel time between the airport and Campinas is about 2 hours, depending on traffic conditions.

Campinas also has an international airport, with a limited choice of flights from the United States (Orlando, FL; Fort Lauderdale, FL) and Europe (Lisbon).

Currently, masks are not mandatory in Brazil. However, some people are wearing masks in public places.
