PURPOSE

This two-day workshop with gather international experts to:

  1. define the multi–‐faceted nature of demand–‐side policies and their pervasive presence in systems of innovation; and
  2. focus specifically on one such policy known as public procurement for innovation (PPI).

The workshop aims at presenting the state of the art in our understanding of this very important aspect of innovation policy and at defining the next steps forward. It also purports to expose policy decision makers from the State of São Paulo and Brazil more generally to international good practice with PPI and its limitations.

The workshop coincides with the launch of the book: “Public Procurement for Innovation” (Charles Edquist, Nicholas S. Vonortas, Jon M Zabala‐Iturriagagoitia, and Jakob Edler – eds) , Edward Elgar Publishing.

The work language will be English.

*The workshop is free of charge, but registration is required and the number of participants is limited.
